A really easy but moresish recipe – they always get eaten almost as soon as I put them out. If you don’t have time to make chutney just buy a good quality from the supermarket. I usually make these spicy, cheesy scones as a canape and serve cut in half with their toppings.

Probably my favourite cake, the hardest thing is making the fruit ring. However the ring in the photo lasted 3 weeks!!!!

I had to send this recipe to my daughter last week as she wanted to cook something quick, tasty, low fat and cheap. This is such a versatile recipe and can be prepared any time during the day and stored in the fridge till needed – any leftovers are great cold as well. My husband is trying to lose weight this month so wants to eat fairly healthily, that means that I also have to eat healthily too.

Caroline’s just come home for Christmas, and she adores chocolate. Luckily for me I had a few of these delicious fondants left over from cookery classes and they have been in the freezer ever since.

It’s about this time of the year when I get given a lot of courgettes and marrows. I love this recipe as it combines courgettes with any fish that’s available, a small amount of cheesy sauce and I get to flambé which always adds drama to the occasion. It was a bit tricky to flambé and take the photo, but I persuaded my son Charles to take the picture whilst I made sure the flames did not get out of hand. I always have a lid nearby, then the flames are easy to extinguish.

Its is our harvest lunch today and as I’m part of a team that helps organise these sort of functions I had the responsibility of providing a recipe that was suitable for the lunch and for all our volunteers to make.

I recently made these cakes for my daughters 21st birthday party in Scotland. I had to transport all the cakes there and once there, make different toppings and decorate them. I had a little help from all 3 flat mates who wanted to contribute to the event. They are really easy to make as you can see from the recipes below. Needless to say the following day there were none left !!!
