After Xmas I usually make a vow
To eat less food and diet somehow
But January comes and intentions I’m ditchin’
As on Mondays I head towards Judy’s kitchen
Sixteen ladies, all eager to taste
Some scrumptious food, there’ll be no waste
Beef in Guiness and an Asian curry
Will ours look the same? Ah So! Velly funny
We tried passion fruit pots and pistachio torte
Home made desserts, mmm, much better than bought
Jo makes the tea and just take a lookie
Each week we are treated to a different kind of cookie.
Roasted lamb rumps with redcurrant jelly
Cauliflower soup made with cheese that was smelly
Chopping and whizzing, slicing and dicing
Three courses of food, all so enticing
Some dishes were easy but some were quite tricky
The coconut rice was meant to be sticky
I think I’ll have trouble handling filo pastry
But those spicy rolls were oh so tasty
So we don’t need Masterchef or Come Dine with me
We have our own stars here in Southend on Sea
Who cook us dishes fit for a queen
I’m now looking forward to January 16.
